Rituals that keep me grounded on the road

How I Ground Myself While Always On the Go

Life on the move can be exhilarating but it can also be disorienting if I don’t stay anchored in practices that keep me connected to myself. Over time, I’ve learned that grounding doesn’t have to mean stopping. It just means being intentional. Here are a few ways I’ve learned to stay grounded while constantly on the go and in my daily life.

Always being on the go ive learned to keep myself grounded by bringing a journal to allow my emotions to be processed on paper through freewritting or poetry

I often bring my running shoes with me so I can ground through movement—whether it’s running or hiking.

I also love walks, especially during sunrise or sunset… being outdoors is a must.

Taking intentional time to slow down to meditate, breathe, or do yoga is essential. Also deep rest.

I do my best to stay off my phone, especially first thing in the morning.

Forest bathing, slow walks, no tech (though I need to work on this because I love capturing photos). My goal is to incorporate this at least once a week with no phone. I learned about this concept in Okinawa, Japan.

Voice notes to myself—affirmations, truths, or processing raw emotions—help keep me grounded.

Baths with salts, flowers, and oils…
Also bathing in any type of water—oceans, rivers, lakes, hot springs. Water always brings me back to myself.

Energetic hygiene is important too—sometimes that just means taking a shower with intention, letting what’s not mine wash off and go down the drain.

Moving emotions through the body—dancing, shaking, or just shaking your ass—can be medicine.

I like to travel with a few sacred items—stones, shells, a photo, a candle, or something gifted to me. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just something that holds energy, memory, or meaning.A small altar reminds me of who I am, no matter where I am.
