Paris in the Summer-A City That Stole My Heart
I visited Paris for the first time during the Paralympics last August, and surprisingly, it felt less crowded than I expected for summer. The city had an energy that was alive but never overwhelming — the perfect mix of movement and magic.
From the classic Louvre to the striking Sacré-Cœur church in Montmare which felt like a pilgrimage site, I wandered through all the iconic places. One of the most memorable moments was stepping into the Palais Garnier opera house — it felt like I had time-traveled into another era.
The boulangeries were their own kind of poetry: buttery pastries, ripe figs, decadent chocolates, and of course — the cheese. Paris truly knows how to romance your senses.
One night, I sipped champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower (i would highly recommend going inside the eiffel tower), watching the city twinkle under the night sky. and seeing Paris from above gives you a whole new perspective….that night, I somehow ended up crashing a French party in the park — and danced freely under the stars.
Luxembourg Gardens quickly became one of my favorite spots. I spent a hot summer afternoon people-watching and enjoying the shade, letting the pace of the day slow me down.
I also met up with some friends who were visiting at the same time — and that’s when the real frolicking began. We wandered, laughed, and fell into the rhythm of the city together.
Every corner of Paris feels alive — vibrant, mysterious, romantic, and yet oddly peaceful. It’s a place that hums with history and possibility.
Paris truly stole a piece of my heart.
